Peace in the Middle East hangs in the balance..

As Prime Minister Ariel Sharons’ life hangs on by a thread, several world leaders are worried about peace in the Middle East. President Bush was dependent upon Sharon to bring peace to the Middle East and form a Palestinian state. Now Bush has no lead to follow in the peace process. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said, "The desire for a stable relationship between Israel and the Palestinians is one that runs wide and deep in Israeli society”. However, Phyllis Bennis of the Institute for Policy Studies said, "Diplomatically things will now stall. But the United States will revert to its position of accepting what happens on the ground without challenging Israel and that means allowing Palestinians to be in a big prison”. The world needs Sharon, whether you like it or not. He has done a lot for Israel and Palestine, by pulling settlements out of Gaza. I hope that he pulls through everything o.k. Personally, I don’t think there will ever be peace in the Middle East. What’s your say?
